IRISH SUPERBIKES: PEARSON BACK ON TRACK

Defending ISB Champion Michael Pearson, gets his 2008 Championship back on track this weekend with the Carryduff Forklifts/Boost Drinks Yamaha rider heading to his favourite track Bishopscourt.

After a slow start to the season, Pearson see's himself moving back into the top six of the Championships, with Pearson knowing that Bishopscourt could change his luck after a couple of disappointing rounds at Mondello Park.

And, with a Scottish Open Superbike Championship race pencilled in for June 21st-22nd at Knockhill, and the Cock O The North Road Races at Scarborough on July 12-13th, Pearson will be finding himself almost tied up for the next four weeks of racing.

"It seems like ages since I last rode a bike. In fact, it was almost one month ago (North West 200) since I have been on the bikes. In between time, I took in the Isle of Man TT Races were I was a spectator, and who knows, maybe someday I'll have a crack at it," said Pearson.

"This weekend we go to Bishopscourt in Co-Down for the next round of the Irish Superbike Championships, where I will be aiming for nothing less than wins. There are 50pts up for grabs and I want them, but so do the rest of the guys. Bishopscourt is my favourite home circuit, and if all goes well, I am quietly confident of some good results."

Team manager Willis Marshall said: "Michael has had a good rest over the past three weeks, so its back to business this weekend at Bishopscourt. It would appear that there is a big gap between the Championships races here, so we have decided to take in a couple of race meetings in the mainland.
"On June 21st-22nd we travel to Knockhill in Scotland for a Scottish Club meeting. This should keep Michael in good shape, and then on the weekend of July 12th-13th, we travel over to Scarborough for the Cock O The North Races. Hopefully we can take away some positives from these next three meetings, and try and make our charge for the top spot in the ISB in 2008".
