Roads specialist Lee Johnston has begun a charity fundraising drive for the Marie Curie charity which centres around his new ‘F13K Cancer’ campaign and he hopes to raise £13,000.
The East Coast Racing rider has experienced first hand the turmoil cancer can bring into a family home so decided to actively raise money, starting with T-shirts and phone cases, plus a one-off helmet which will be auctioned at the Ulster Grand Prix.
“One of the worst feelings in the world is not being able to help people close to your heart,” said the Maguiresbridge lad. “For that reason alone I’m starting this charity, as the sad fact is – nearly everyone is close to someone with cancer.
“It’s a well know fact that racers and race fans are very generous when it comes to supporting charities, so I’m hoping everyone gets involved, by simply donating, or they can purchase a t-shirt or phone cover.”
