Hickman started his season with an impressive fourth place on the PHR Performance Triumph 765. Meanwhile, Dunlop was ninth on his Milwaukee/MD Racing Ducati Panigale V2.

Josh Herrin won the Daytona 200 on his Ducati Panigale V2, this was his fourth Daytona 200 victory and his third win in a row.

The podium was completed by Suzuki riders, Richie Escalante and Tyler Scott. However, Escalante, who finished second, was 5.3 seconds behind Herrin.

The Daytona 200 was red flagged twice. The first occasion was the result of heavy rain, and the second was after a big crash upon the restart.

Hickman and Dunlop used the Daytona 200 as a solid start for their 2025 campaigns. Both riders will compete in the major road races this season.

Dunlop will be aiming to extend his record amount of victories at the Isle of Man TT, after breaking his uncle Joey Dunlop's record in 2024.

Hickman left the FHO Racing team ahead of the 2025 season and started his own team, 8TEN Racing. The British rider will be joined by Davey Todd for the British Superbike Championship and road races, the team will be backed by BMW.
