Lusk road racer Noel Murphy has died in an accident at the Tandragee 100.
Mr Murphy was involved in an incident on the Castle Corner Cooley Hill section of the five mile Co Armagh Circuit with the Junior Support race immediately red flagged.
The accident came almost six years to the day that another Lusk rider Martin Finnegan lost his life in an accident at Tandragee, bringing yet more grief to the quiet Co Dublin village with a determined racing community.
After consultation with the riders family racing continued following a lengthy delay with some riders opting out of the rest of the race programme. BSN extends its sympathies to the Murphy family circle.
"The North Armagh Motorcycle and Car Club deeply regret to announce at today's race, at the Tandragee 100, a rider in the junior support race crashed and sustained fatal injuries,” said Clerk of the course RJ Woolsey, yesterday.
"The officials and club extend their sympathy to Noel Murphy's family and partner.”
