As the rains got heavier, it was the two Dunlop brothers that dominated the second Supersport session at the North West 200 with William on the Wilson Craig Honda ending up the quickest of the two siblings.
He led the way for most of the session and was the only rider to dip beneath 5 minutes with a lap of 108.172mph, 13 seconds slower than Alastair Seeley's lap of 113.242mph from Tuesday which will see the Tyco Suzuki line up in pole position for Saturday's two races.
Michael Dunlop was second fastest in the wet today at 106.351 with Bruce Anstey and Gary Johnson next at 106.233 and 105.641 respectively. A number of riders experienced minor problems during the session with James Hillier having to pit to alter the gearing, going up a tooth, and Johnson called in twice making alterations to the engine management system on each occasion, Tim Seed from Crescent Suzuki assisting him. David Haire was having trouble with his visor whilst Dean Harrison was forced to stop out at University with a supsected damaged radiator.
Dan Kneen, Cameron Donald, Ian Hutchinson, Guy Martin and Adrian Archibald all decided to stay dry and didn't take to the track whilst Ryan Farquhar, Ian Lougher and Conor Cummins have all opted out of the Supersport class entirely this weekend.
With Tuesday's dry session times forming the grid, it will be a Tyco Suzuki 1-2 with Seeley heading the front row from team-mate Guy Martin and John McGuinness behind them in third. William Dunlop, Johnson and impressive Italian Stefano Bonetti make up row two.
