Race instructor Stephen Thompson lost his way during the NorthWest 200 opening practice session last night when he was showing newcomers which way the nine-mile Triangle circuit goes.

Thompson, along with ex-riders Michael Swann, Phillip McCallen and Brian Grant plus current racers Davy Morgan and John Burrows, each took round a small group of newcomers to show them the lines.

It went slightly wrong for Thompson, however, as at Juniper Chicane he missed his line and ended up in the hedge.
