Leading British Supersport Championship team Gearlink Kawasaki are making their public roads debut at the NW200 this week. Riding the two 600s are Dan Cooper - who has switched from his Hampshire M/Cs Suzuki - and regular roads man Mark Buckley.

Jeremy McWilliams may have ridden in 176 GPs but he's a novice at the NW200 and is out on track in an unfamiliar red jacket. The 2001 Dutch 250cc GP winner is riding on the roads for the first time but says he loves the circuit and has found it relatively easy to learn. He was ninth fastest in opening practice for the Supertwins at 100.236mph.

In the second Supertwins practice, McWilliams ran out of fuel and had to borrow a five from a marshal to get enough juice in the tank at a petrol station to get back to the pits.

James Hillier's Supertwins machine had never turned a wheel until opening night practice. With an engine prepared by Ryan Farquhar, Hillier was third quickest at 103.855mph. However, he had problems with his other bikes with the 600cc breaking down on his first lap and the Superbike having the incorrect gearing - he was still able to go through the speed trap at 197mph!

Michael Rutter is also out in the Supertwins class riding another of Ryan Farquhar's KMR Kawasaki's. The BSB rider was only scheduled to ride the machine at the TT but has taken over the seat of the injured Kirk Jamison.

Conor Cummins failed to complete a lap on his Superstock machine on Tuesday having been stranded out on the circuit when the front brake locked on. His official lap speed was 19.266mph!

Ian Hutchinson has ridden in today’s Superstock practice but won’t be out in this evening’s first race while Gary Johnson slipped off at Mill Road roundabout but is fine.
