Ballygowan's Michael Pearson has switched to the Supersport 600 class at next weekend's MotoSix Nations Cup at Donington Park after Raceways' Lee Johnston pulled out.
Pearson, who was originally selected as a team member in the Superbike class, took up the offer of the 600 machine after it was disclosed that Johnston would not be able to take part in the meeting, and who was part of the 600 team selected. Michael will ride the GSMCC Supersport 600 Honda, which had its first outing at Bishopscourt three weeks ago.
"I got a call from Kirk Jamison to say that a couple of the 600 riders would be unable to take part in the event due to unavailability of machinery, and was asked to consider a switch to the 600 class," said Pearson.
"I rang Willis Marshall and discussed it with him, and he agreed that I might have a more even keel chance in the Supersport class compared to the Superbikes, as my own machine is only in Superstock spec.
"I had a good ride out on the 600 at Bishopscourt in a test day, and the wee bike was handling like a dream, so I am confident enough that I can do well in this class."
