Peter Hickman is 'comfortable' and in 'good spirits' following an accident during qualifying practice for the 2025 Isle of Man TT that has left him with a series of injuries.
The 14-time TT winner - who was a favourite for victory in all four solo classes this year - fell heavily at the start of Qualifying 3 on Friday evening at Kerrowmoar.
The 8TEN Racing-prepared Monster Energy BMW rider was taken by AirMed to Noble's Hospital where he is currently being treated for chest, back, shoulder and facial injuries, according to an official update from TT organisers.
Hickman was described as 'conscious and stable' in the immediate aftermath of the accident, with organisers since adding he is in 'good spirits' in hospital.
The Louth rider was one of two riders taken to hospital following crashes with Tom Weeden also taken to via AirMed to be treated for back, leg and ankle injuries due to a crash at Glen Helen.
Hickman's incident red flagged the Q3 session before it was cancelled altogether due to inclement weather.
It means only two of the planned five qualifying sessions have been completed during the first week of the TT, though two more sessions have been planned for Saturday after the first Supersport and Sidecar races were rescheduled for Monday.
As it stands, there has been a further delay to proceedings following poor weather on the island on Saturday morning, with a decision due on whether track action will now get underway for 13.00.
Honda Racing UK's Dean Harrison currently tops the combined timesheets in the Superbike, Supersport and Superstock classes following the two sessions, with Michael Dunlop leading Supertwins.
