Sixties’ TT and short-circuit racer Rex Butcher is returning to the Isle of Man Mountain Circuit for another six-lapper - but this time on a bicycle, at the age of 75.
Rex aims to pedal the distance of a Senior TT - 226.38 miles - by doing two laps a day for three days on August 16-18. The toughest part of his charity effort, with co-rider Julie, while wife Angie runs the pits, will be the seven-mile, 1400-foot climb from Ramsey at sea level up Snaefell mountain to Brandywell.
The effort will raise money for the Kent, Sussex and Surrey air ambulance service. Last year Rex’s Team BeBut cycling efforts raised over £5500 for a hospice.
