Seven-time TT winning sidecar passenger Dan Sayle announced today that he will abandon the three wheelers to race solo machines for Newry-based motorcycle dealership Crossans/Visorshop.com in 2012.
In recent years the Sulby-based racer has been jumping into the chair beside Dave Molyneux, Nicky Crowe and Klaus Klaffenbock to help them win Sidecar TTs but on May 26 he will line up on the Glencrutchry road to make his solo TT debut on a R6 Yamaha and a RSV4 Aprilia in Crossans red and yellow colours.
"I sat down and thought about it over the winter and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve kind of exhausted myself on the sidecars. I started out on solos and I want to take up the challenge again. I know the Mountain course like the back of my hand - I could ride it with my eyes shut - and I think that it is the best place for me to go now," said Sayle.
