Derek Sheils, who won two Irish and one Ulster road racing championships this season, has agreed to ride for John Burrows’ Tyrone-based team again in 2017.
Another boost for the team is confirmation that Cookstown will continue as title sponsor of the team for the seventh consecutive year as Sheils makes his Macau GP debut later this month on the GSX-R1000.
"I had a great 2016 with Cookstown Burrows Engineering and I'm delighted to be staying with the team for another campaign. John has assembled a great crew, who are very professional and keep on top of things,” said Sheils.
“I want to be challenging at the front of every International race I take part in. At home it would be nice to retain the titles I won this year, but will take each National meeting as they come. If I win races every weekend then the championships will look after themselves."
