Southern 100 bosses have said they will remain in favour of two-stroke racing for the 2012 season with both 125cc and 250cc classes scheduled into next year's calendar and at the Post-TT Races held on the Billown Circuit.
Secretary George Peach, who is currently reviewing regulations and entry criteria, is convinced of the two-stroke classes' popularity but added they will be mixed in with four-stroke 400s and 650cc twins.
"The Committee are in the process of reviewing the regulations and entry criteria for the 2012 races and have confirmed that Southern 100 Racing will continue to support the popular two-stroke classes at both of our events where they are eligible to race, although the 125s will race with the 400s and the 250s with the 650 SuperTwins," said Peach.
"The two-strokes have been part of the Southern 100 for many years and competitors have supported us throughout and provided excellent racing and entertainment so we are keen to keep the classes alive as long as we receive the support of the current riders and entrants we will endeavour to cater for them.
"The club looks forward to receiving entries for these two classes which are extremely popular with the spectators visiting the Billown course for the Manx Telecom Post-TT and Steam Packet Southern 100 races."
