After controversial events at the North West 200, Peter Hickman has admitted he may not return to the event.
Peter Hickman felt that Michael Dunlop should have been given a ten-second time penalty in the Briggs Equipment Superbike Race at the North West 200.
Dunlop ran on at the Mather's chicane on the first lap of the Superbike Race, and did not stop after cutting the chicane. Hickman also went straight on at the chicane but stopped in the stop box before setting off again.
Dunlop later ran wide at the Metropole and lost more time, but he was still able to catch up to Hickman's teammate, Davey Todd. The Northern Irishman was able to pass the English rider on the last lap and claimed his first win in the Superbike class since 2016.
Hickman finished third in the Briggs Equipment Superbike Race, but out of protest, refused to join Dunlop and Todd on the podium after the race.
After the final race of the week, Hickman said: "A bit of a sad end really, and there’s a lot of stuff going on, a lot of things happened that shouldn’t have happened, so that’ll probably be my last ever North West unfortunately.
"We’re not going to be here and be treated the way we’re being treated, and rules being bent for certain people but not others.
"It’s not right, it’s not fair, so that’s it I’m afraid."
During the 2025 North West 200, Hickman did not win a race throughout the week. Compared to Dunlop and Todd, who won three races each.
Dunlop took two victories on Thursday, winning the Amici Rostorante Superstock Race and the Fraser Homes Supersport Race, before following it up with a win on Saturday in the controversial Briggs Equipment Superbike Race.
Todd took a victory on Thursday, winning the Milwaukee Superbike Race and then two wins on Saturday in the CP Hire Superstock Race and the Merrow Hotel & Spa Superbike Race.
