TT 2008 | ANSTEY WINS SECOND SUPERSPORT RACE

Flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey has added another win to the Relentless Suzuki’s TT tally taking the second supersport race this morning by more than half a minute from Ian Hutchinson - and setting a new lap record of 125.359mph.
Anstey, who was disqualified from the number one spot after Monday’s first supersport race for an engine infringement, had to tangle with Hutchinson for the first lap but then made the race his own, stretching his lead at every sector.
A coughing Anstey, who is still suffering from fly symptoms, said: "I got a good start and went out to enjoy myself. I wanted to do well for the team after Monday. The Pirellis were awesome.
"I could have gone faster but there’s a headwind on the Mountain Mile and we had to slow down for a couple of accidents."
John McGuinness was forced to retire in the pits on lap one. His Padgetts Honda started to leak oil at Cronk-y-Voddy and he had to pull in. Keith Amor and Steve Plater were also forced out with mechanical woes at the Bungalow. Superbike and Superstock TT winner Cameron Donald retired on the mountain on lap three.
Hutchinson led the race until Ramsey Hairpin on lap one and then Anstey went past on time and kept it there. His second lap, which included a pitstop, broke Guy Martin’s lap record from last year and by Glen Helen on lap three, Anstey also led on the road.
Ryan Farquhar, who split from the McAdoo team just before getting on the ferry, secured his first TT podium since winning the supersport race in 2005. Ian Lougher rode a storming last lap to overhaul both Guy Martin and Gary Johnson for fourth.
