NW200 star Michael Dunlop is set to replace James McBride in the Phase one team at this year's TT. McBride is currently recovering from a crash on Monday where he broke his arm and fractured some ribs.
Dunlop won the 250cc NorthWest race just days after losing his father Robert in a practice crash. It was initially thought that Michael would not race at the TT this year, but a last minute change of heart has left him free to ride the Phase One bike.
Team manager Russell Benney commented: “Michael will be out on our bike for tomorrow night's practice. We're really pleased to have him on board; he's got a wise head on young shoulders and is keen and enthusiastic. He's very much up for it and we're all looking forward to working with him.”
The news comes just hours after it was confirmed that brother William is to start his short-circuit career proper at Thundersport's Brands Hatch meeting this weekend.
