Team Agni's Rob Barber has set the fastest lap for an electric bike ahead of Friday's TTXGP averaging 84mph with a top speed of 102mph down Sulby Straight.
Manxman Dan Kneen was second quickest, lapping in just over 32 minutes while Chris Petty was third fastest on a 33'35 lap. Of the 14 bikes that took part in the practice, 10 bikes completing the gruelling 37.73 Isle of Man Mountain Circuit, qualifying for the race on Friday.
Azhar Hussain, founder of the TTXGP, said, “Today has been an incredible achievement for the teams taking part in the TTXGP who have demonstrated it is possible to build a zero-carbon electric race bike capable of the Isle of Man Mountain Circuit.
"Being the first event of its kind anywhere in the world, many have naturally had doubts as to whether available technology is capable of such a demanding challenge. Standing on the finishing, you could literally see the hearts and minds of those present changing as the bikes sped past. Clean emission motorsport has become reality.”
