British Supersport regular Jenny Tinmouth ended today's Superbike TT with a final flying lap of just over 114mph on her Superstock-spec sorrymate.com Honda Fireblade, finishing in 44th place in her first ever race on the Isle of Man.
Tinmouth, who will be in action again tomorrow in both the Supersport and Superstock TT races, has got to within gnat's of Maria Costello's long-standing quickest lap of 114.73mph, set in 2004 on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 during the Production TT.
"It wasn't fast enough really. I want to go through at least 115mph tomorrow and then hopefully faster in the Senior on Saturday. It was pretty drama-free and I'm glad to get my first race out of the way," said Tinmouth, squeaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"I did get a bit of a tow from Steve Plater when he came past me at Glen Vine so I tried to tag onto the back of him and managed to keep on the back of him to Crosby. He pulled some awesome wheelies through there."
