William Dunlop was a high-profile non-starter from Monday's Supersport race after an engine failure in Saturday afternoon's practice session. The team repaired the bike but they ran out of time to get it dyno'd and they withdrew on safety grounds. He'll be back out in Wednesday's second race.
Luis Carreira was another rider who failed to take to the start line, a gearbox problem with the CD Racing Yamaha keeping the Portuguese rider out of action.
Adrian Archibald started from the back of the grid in the initial start after noticing the tyre warmers hadn't actually been switched on. With no heat in the tyres, he started dead last although he was able to go from his scheduled no13 in the re-run.
Michael Dunlop suffered an oil leak from the side case gasket in the first race having major 'feet off the pegs' moments through Tower Bends and on the approach to the Gooseneck. The same problem sidelined him at Ballig in the re-run.
When hearing about the moments, brother William quipped "he has those kind of moments when he doesn't have an oil leak!"
Ian Lougher took 7th in the Supersport race but his retirement in the opening Superbike race was due to running out of fuel.
Dan Stewart finished 10th in the Supersport race despite being almost last through the Sulby speedtrap. The Cumbrian ace went through at 155.3mph almost 17mph down on the quickest, John McGuinness, who broke the beam at 172.1mph
Despite having the tank blown out to 22 litres, Gary Johnson was unable to complete 2 laps in the Superstock race and the East Coast Racing Honda ran out of fuel coming over the Mountain eventually stopping for good at Creg ny Baa.
Dan Stewart was an early retirement in the Superstock race pulling in at the end of the first lap. The Wilcock Consulting BMW ran into gearbox difficulties with the bike constantly jumping out of top gear.
Stephen Thompson posted a new personal best lap yesterday of 122.671mph but was forced out on the third lap of the Superstock race with a broken steering damper.
Davy Morgan has had a nightmare TT, completing just 3 laps during practice week. He then retired on the first lap of the Superbike race before being a non-starter in the Supersport race due to having blown three engines in practice. He did, however, get to the finish in the Superstock race taking 22nd place and picking up another bronze replica.
Six riders broke the 120mph barrier for the first time in the Superstock race - Simon Andrews, Dean Harrison, Piotr Betlej, Jules Croft, Michael Russell and Steve Heneghan, the first three of whom are all newcomers at TT2011.
