Honda Legend's Michael Dunlop will return to Ballymoney a happy man after taking four Isle of Man TT wins in one week and only being denied a fifth by a faultless ride from 20-time winner John McGuinness in yesterday's Senior.
After two hours of racing, the pair were only split by ten seconds. Six laps of the Mountain Course in blistering temperatures saw the race record broken by McGuinness and the top runners all set laps over 131mph.
"The race was good, the conditions were good, the track was great, it was just a pity about that first stop. I'm happy enough, the job was good and John rode very well. I enjoyed riding the big bike round here. I thought the pace would be better and the lap record would go but that's track temperature," said Dunlop.
"I got caught with a couple of backmarkers and that's the way it went. I'm glad John got it because he's been crying all week, even the electric race he cried about! No, John rode well and came out fighting. I'm a happy camper with four in a week which is better than a kick in the balls so I'll be back and hopefully bigger and stronger.
"There are a lot of things I would change on the Superbike to suit me if we are coming back with the same bike."
