TT 2014: Crash ‘is all behind me’ says Cummins

Manxman Conor Cummins more than justified the faith shown in him by Honda Racing at this year's TT as he rounded off the week with a superb second place in the Senior race and says the 2010 Verandah crash is now behind him.

Having already taken third place in the opening Superbike race, the 28-year old pushed eventual race winner Michael Dunlop all the way and took his first 'big bike' podium finishes since 2009. He also recorded his first 130mph laps of the Mountain Course since returning from his accident in 2010.

"Everything that happened back then is all behind me. I knew it was going to be a fast race so I pulled my finger out from the start and worked as hard as I could for the entire six laps,” said the Ramsey man, speaking to bikesportnews.com

“I had two mega pit stops and I can't fault the boys in the team. I had no trouble at all during the race and although I got held up a couple of times by backmarkers, it was didn't lose me any time.

"There was a bit of dust here and there but it's public roads and I loved every second of the race. A lot of people have stuck by me these last three years - they know who they are - and I'm happy to be back on the podium. I can't fault anyone but we had a bit of bad luck in the other races and will definitely be back stronger next year."
