Former GP rider Danny Webb is lapping up his debut TT experience although, like everyone else in the paddock, the truncated practice sessions have left him frustrated as the number of laps he’s able to complete has been limited.
“It’s been a bit frustrating hanging around because of the weather as obviously I just want to get in as many laps as I can each night but when I’ve been out, it’s being going really good and I’m having a lot of fun.”
So far, the Tunbridge Wells man has lapped at a solid 112.767mph on the SGS International/KMR Kawasaki in the Superstock class and 108.566mph in the Lightweight class.
“The Twin’s a bit easier to ride as it’s more like what I’m used to but I’ve been enjoying the Stocker too and there’s a lot more to come from both bikes. I’m learning each time I go out and last night was good as I spent two laps behind Johnny Barton.
"I’ve picked up the first section to Glen Helen quite well, and through to Kirk Michael to be fair, but I’ve been struggling a bit on the high speed run after that and, like most newcomers, the Ginger Hall to Ramsey section.
“Following Johnny really helped me with what lines to take and it’s a case of time and experience to move forward. I’ve been getting quicker and quicker with each and every lap and learning all the time though so it’s fair to say I’m having a lot of fun.”
