TT 2014: William Dunlop targets 131mph in Friday's Senior

After a relatively quiet week, William Dunlop showed some of his true TT form on Wednesday afternoon when he took a strong third in Wednesday's second four-lap Supersport race and is now targeting a 131mph lap in Friday’s Senior.

Unlike other races where he's been at the lower half of the top ten, the Tyco Suzuki rider was in contention from the start and was only less than a tenth of a second behind brother Michael at Glen Helen on the opening lap.

Although, he was ultimately pushed back to third by Bruce Anstey, he had a secure gap over fourth placed Dean Harrison and was able to take his third podium around the Mountain Course.

"The wee bike's been new to me this week but Stewart Johnstone's been working really hard with me and it was really nice to ride today. I really struggled with it Monday's race but we made some big changes for today and it paid dividends,” said Dunlop, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“I was able to ride more like how I wanted to and it sets us uo nicely for the Senior. I did a 130mph lap on the last lap of the Superbike so with the weaks we've made to the big bike, I'm hopeful of getting into the 131s."
