Danny Webb and Lee Johnston will remain in Nobles Hospital tonight following their crashes in today’s TT 2017 practice sessions.
Webb went down at Laurel Bank after coming up behind a slower rider while Johnston fell at Creeba Castle and turned his leased Padgetts Honda Supersport 600 into a fiery mess. Fortunately, neither were seriously injured.
“I was on my second lap of the practice session when I came to a back marker at Laurel Bank. He braked earlier than I had expected and this resulted in my crash. Luckily the marshals and medics were around very quickly and I also want to thank the medical team in Nobles hospital,” said Webb.
“In first we thought I only had a dislocated shoulder but further checks have revealed some fractures in my back. I’ll remain here in Nobles and wait what the specialists over in Liverpool say after they’ve seen the pics of the scans. I want to thank everyone involved in my rescue and I am fairly happy to have nothing worse from that one.
“Also a big thank you goes to my whole Penz13 team, that have supported me as best as they could and I am disappointed I won’t be able to take part in this year’s TT races, but I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
