Peter Hickman joined a select band of riders to win two TT races in a day when he added Thursday afternoon's Superstock race victory to the one he'd claimed earlier in the day in the second Supersport race.

With three wins already in the week, and five now in total, as well as the outright lap record to his name, the 32-year is further strengthening his claim as current King of the Mountain.

The Supersport race win was his first in the 600cc category, after four succcessive podiums in the class, whilst the manner in which he won the Superstock encounter - by more than 26 seconds - will have given his rivals plenty to think about ahead of tomorrow's Senior race.

He's yet to decide whether to run the 'hybrid' machine that he won Monday's Superbike race on switch to his BSB Superbike machine.

"The morning’s practice lap helped me for the Supersport race and rather than having a slow first sector, it was the opposite on this occasion and seeing ‘P1’ on my first pit board was a pretty nice feeling," Hickman said afterwards.

 There was never much between Dean and myself and to lap at 128mph given the fact I’d only had four laps on the bike before today is pretty mega.

"To get the win is even better and the input we’ve had this year from Triumph has certainly helped. Having come close a few times before, it’s great to have finally won a 600cc TT race."

With the Superbike and second Supersport race wins already to his name, Hickman then served up a masterclass performance in the Superstock race where a standing start lap of 132.025mph - which proved to be the fastest of the race - gave him an impressive nine-second lead.

Harrison reduced the gap to less than six seconds at Glen Helen second time around but Hickman was just getting back into his stride and from that moment on, he continually extended his advantage. Indeed, his final winning margin of 26.045s is almost unheard of at the TT in recent time.

"I don't know what it is but everything’s just clicked with the Superstock bike this year and it was nice to have a TT race where I had a nice lead and could enjoy it properly rather than having to bite the screen on the last lap.

"I hadn't sat on it until the first lap of practice at the North West 200 and I was P1 there and we've continued in that vein here. It wasn’t easy, a TT race never is, but I felt really comfortable on the bike and I really enjoyed the last two laps."

"It's a brand new bike and we've had no data or previous settings to work from but the bike's worked straight out the box which is testament to BMW. I had real fun out there and the team have done a great job all week so to be sitting here now with my third win of the week feels pretty special.”
