UGP | ULSTER GRAND PRIX LAUNCHES IN BELFAST

Wednesday night saw the second of the UGP press launches, were Cameron Donald, Adrian Archibald, William Dunlop and a very sore Michael Pearson, which was to launch the details of the main title sponsors, the Belfast Telegraph.

For the second year running “The Tele”, will be backing the Ulster Grand Prix Bike week from 11th – 16th August 2008, were the organisers are hoping to have John McGuinness and Ian Hutchinson in the starting-line-up along side, Donald, Archibald, Dunlop and Pearson.

Clerk of the Course, Noel Johnston said; “Once again Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week will feature an 11 race programme with five races running on Thursday night’s Dundrod 150 event whilst Saturday’s Race Day will profile six races culminating in the Belfast Telegraph Superbike Race.”

Lisburn City Council, who hosted the press launch, will also be heavily involved with supporting “The Prix” with financial backing. Mayor Cllr James Tinsley said; “The Council has again agreed to provide financial assistance as well as technical assistance to help ensure the continuing success of the event.”

Both the Mayor and Sports Editor of the Belfast Telegraph took the opportunity on Wednesday night to wish everyone a safe and successful UGP Bike Week in 2008.
