WILLIAM DUNLOP TO JOIN KRP HONDA IN 2010

Ballymoney's William Dunlop has announced he will ride under the KRP Honda banner for a full season in next year's British 125GP championship despite an awful weekend at Silverstone.

The 24-year-old completed just six laps of Sunday's race before a misfire on his PJ Flynn Honda, which started on the warm-up lap, got too bad for him to continue.

"Things did not go so well. After a bad qualifying on Saturday, I thought to myself things cannot get much worse, but they did. The wee bike started to misfire on the warm up lap and I pulled into the pits to try and sort it out, but that meant I had to start from pit-lane," said Dunlop

"On the first lap, it started again, but I wanted to race so badly that I tried to keep her going, but after six laps I had to call it a day. It has not been a complete waste of time, as I have decided to compete in the 2010 British 125 Championships under the KRP Honda Team, which is run and owned by Mark Kneen.

"Mark has worked with dad and I, and we know each other very well, so that is a good starting point. Hopefully I will be able to let you know more in the coming days."
