Alex Lowes and the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team had a 'fantastic' debut year with the KB998 Rimini.
The 2025 World Superbike Championship saw the Kawasaki Racing Team become the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team, as the team switched from the Kawasaki ZX-10R to the KB998 Rimini.
Alex Lowes became the lead rider for the bimota and Kawasaki joint venture in the World Superbike Championship. The British rider had a positive debut year on the KB998 Rimini as he claimed four podiums with the new machine.
After the 12 World Superbike Rounds across the 2025 season, Lowes found himself in sixth place in the Championship standings after scoring 218 points across the 36 races.
"I am quite happy with our day’s work and I thought I rode the bike really well today," Lowes said at the end of the 2025 season.
"We tried some things and probably missed a little bit of feeling in the second half of the race. We had a solid final weekend, but not an easy one in the hot conditions. Overall I am happy, certainly, with the second part of the season.
"In the first year of a new project, the effort, passion and motivation from everybody in the team has been fantastic. I am proud to be part of this project in our first year against other manufacturers and teams who have years of experience. I think we have to be really happy. I am grateful for the job that has been done, it is impressive. From the mechanical side, the KB998 Rimini is a new bike and we have not had any problems. This shows you what a good job the engineers and mechanics have done. I am proud of them.
"Now, as always in racing, now we will analyse, reflect and try to improve during the winter to try to be stronger next year."
