Alvaro Bautista has been declared unfit after fracturing a rib in the Sunday morning Superpole Race.
After a crash in the Superpole Race on Sunday morning Alvaro Bautista has been declared unfit. The Spaniard crashed out of the race on the opening lap as he tried to make his way forward from 16th on the grid.
However, whilst on the brakes into turn seven Bautista made contact with Bradley Ray and crashed. The two-time World Superbike Champion has fractured the eighth rib on his left side and has been declared unfit.
Bautista will miss out on the third and final race of the weekend at Magny-Cours. With Toprak Razgatlioglu also out of action Bautista had a chance to close in on the Turkish rider in the standings, but that chance is now gone.
There are two weeks until the next World Superbike round at Cremona, it is unknown whether Bautista will be able to take part.
Bautista now joins Razgatlioglu and Jonathan Rea on the sidelines after both other former World Superbike Champions also picked up injuries at Magny-Cours.
