Wepol Yamaha's Danny Webb had to withdraw from the Aragon WorldSBK round on Saturday as his wrist proved just too weak to continue safely.
Webb injured himself in a testing crash and went to Spain in the hope he would be able to ride but medics certified him unfit to take any further part.
We knew it wasn’t going to be easy after three months off the bike, surgery and only being out of cast for two weeks," said Webb.
"I felt pretty good before arriving in Aragon, every day I’ve been working hard with multiple treatments but at the end being on the bike at this level was difficult.
"It would have been un-safe for me to continue. We tried and it’s never an easy decision for a racer but it’s the right one. The wrist is getting stronger and more movement each day. Hammer down on the rehab and recovery and we will be back strong in no time."
