Aragon WSBK: Corser 'needs the start of his life'

BMW's Troy Corser cannot get to grips with the setup of his BMW S1000RR this weekend and, after an appalling World Superbike Superpole today, says he needs the start of his life in order to get anywhere in tomorrow's races.

Corser is being unusally forthright about the problems being experienced in the BMW garage. He says that once one setup issue is addressed and fixed, it causes a problem somewhere else for both himself and Leon Haslam - but Haslam is being more circumspect about the problems…

Yesterday was a difficult day for us and today really was no better. The bike just didn’t do what we wanted it to do and nothing we tried seemed to make any difference. Physically, I feel OK, so it’s a shame that the bike isn’t," said Corser.

"My aches and pains are improving all the time and I didn’t really feel any discomfort on the bike today, so I’m guessing I’m not going to have any problems in that area tomorrow. I had more or less the same issues as yesterday and getting the bike to stop was one area we tried to work on and improve, but I don’t feel we have a good set-up yet.

"If we get the bike to stop, it doesn't want to change direction easily. if we get the bike to change direction well, than it doesn’t want to stop! In the fast sections of the track, I’m having to wait until I can get on the gas and there doesn’t seem to be any difference if I’m using soft or hard tyres.

"It is all a bit frustrating at the moment, but Leon is saying the same things about his bike, so I know it’s not just me. We’ve compared our telemetry and can see that he is experiencing the same kind of things as I am. We get to a certain level and lap time, but then can’t seem to go any faster.

"I know that normally I get pretty good starts, but tomorrow I’ll have to make the best starts of my life if I am to be in with a chance of fighting with the leaders. Of course, that’s what I shall try and do and then after that we shall just have to see how the bike is and what happens."
