Aragon WSBK: 'Lack of stability' puts Davies third

Ducati’s Chaz Davies ended the first day of World Superbike free practice outings third quickest overall in Aragon– but the Welshman wants to improve the front of his bike and feels that there is still work to be done on his Panigale.

The Powys based rider is naturally at ease at the Spanish track after doing the double last year, and after a solid opening session earlier this morning placing him sixth overall with a 1’59.135, he was able to do one better and climb to third in the overall timesheets after his mechanics made small changes to his bike – shaving half a second off previous lap time.

“The lap times picked up a little this afternoon but we still need to improve the front of my bike as I would like to have more stability. Having said that, today wasn’t too bad,” said Davies.

“My position is good but it doesn’t quite feel like we’re there with the bike just yet. Anyway we have more time tomorrow so we’ll continue to work to try to improve things ahead of Sunday’s races.”
