Aruba.it Racing - Ducati have no 'plan B' as they hope to continue with Bautista

Gold and Goose

The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati squad are hopeful that Alvaro Bautista will re-sign for the 2025 World Superbike season.

The 2024 season has been a year of ups and downs for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati squad. Despite Nicolo Bulega and Alvaro Bautista sitting in second and third in the Championship Ducati are still 92 points behind BMW and Toprak Razgatlioglu.

This season Bautista has been very open about his struggles with the new added weight to his bike. The Spaniard has not been anywhere near his unbeatable form from 2022 and 2023. For 2024 Bautista signed a one-year deal with Ducati, meaning he is out of contract come the end of the season. The 39-year-old claims he has been in talks with Ducati regarding a ride for 2025. Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Team Principal, Serafino Foti, is hoping that the two-time Champion stays put for next season.

“We didn’t speak during the Portimao weekend because he prefers not to speak during the round,” began Serafino. “We will continue to work and whilst it isn’t defined yet, we’re close to trying to continue together. Soon, I can say if it’s 80% or 90% or 0% but I’m so confident. We don’t have any plan B because our goal is to continue with him.”

Foti continued and began to explain the issues that Bautista has been suffering in 2024. But he also believes that Bautista will be more competitive in future rounds.

“This year, we’ve had some problems with the weight with Alvaro. It was difficult to find the best setup but from Most, we found the best compromise. We moved the weight in some areas and our engineers did a good job at home. He was competitive there and also at Portimao. He crashed but he was there and that’s the most important thing for the future."
