PTR Honda's Sam Lowes is still looking for his elusive first World Supersport win and reckon sit could come this weekend at Assen bur is tempering his enthusiasm for the podium top step with the attitiude that it is points that make championships.
The Lincolnshire youngster had a huge crash at the track last season but says the Circuit Van Drenthe suits his all-action riding style and, being from the UK, a spot of the forecast rain won't bother him.
"The weekend at Imola was really good. We were first or second in every session and will try to carry that on to Assen, which is a circuit that I like and it suits me a lot. The aim is obviously to go out and get that first win but the main thing is to get as much points as we can," said Lowes.
"Assen is fast and flowing, which is what I love about circuits. I'm looking forward to going there and I'm sure we can have a good weekend. I prefer it to be dry but coming from the UK, I've got no problems with riding in the wet too. I've been training hard and feel I'm in good shape. The team and bike are ready too so I hope to be up there on the front row and fighting for a good result."
