Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes proved to be unstoppable at Assen so far this weekend, as he topped all three Superpole sessions, which resulted in him claiming another pole position for tomorrow’s World Superbike race tomorrow.
Even with last minute charges from Pata Honda’s Jonathan Rea and Aprilia’s Eugene Laverty it was still not enough to topple the Englishman from the top of the time-sheets, after achieving a lap time of 1’35.043.
The Brit dominated out on the Dutch circuit and even surprised himself with how well he had performed over these last two days, and had nothing put praise for his Kawasaki team.
“Coming here this weekend I was not quite expecting this. It is not a strong circuit for me, but I am pleasantly surprised with my guys and I have some great people fighting for me in my corner,” said the Huddersfield lad.
“The ZXR is working great, and it has been great over the distance's which is the main thing for tomorrow and in qualifying. I am happy and looking forward to two good races and hopefully we will have similar conditions tomorrow.”
