Battered Camier to ride through hip injury

Fixi Suzuki's Leon Camier is determined not to let a hip injury sustained at the Moscow World Superbike round hamper his efforts this weekend at the Nurburgring, adding he is hoping to change his luck.

The 2009 BSB champion broke his wrist at the German circuit in 2010 but won't let that get in the way of a charge to at least equal his fifth place from last time out while team boss Jack Valentine is determined the team needs to show its true potential.

“I saw my osteopath and he told me that there is some damage to the muscle above my right hip. I’m a little stiff, but it’s not going to affect me on the bike and I’m looking forward to riding this weekend. The Nurburgring hasn’t been particularly lucky for me - I broke my wrist there in 2010 and last year the weather was awful," said Camier.

"I like the track, with its ups and downs and it has a few interesting technical places where you have to know what you are doing. I’m not sure how the FIXI Crescent Suzuki will go round there, but we’ve made good progress recently and hopefully we can qualify well and have a good weekend.”
