Former World Superbike Champion Max Biaggi has ruled himself out of this weekend’s Qatar World Superbike round after sustaining injuries in a mountain bike fall earlier in the week.
Biaggi had been scheduled to complete a trio of wildcard rides for Aprilia but after seeking medical advice, has decided to withdraw with torn calf and stomach muscles.
Biaggi Tweeted: “Sorry but I can not take part in the last round of the World Superbike. During my usual workout mountain biking in the hills of Monte Carlo I had a bad fall. It is a situation that, unfortunately, affects my participation in the race in Qatar. I and the team Aprilia were ready to do great things, I’m really sorry.”
