The sleepy Cumbrian market town of Penrith was brought to a complete halt on Saturday as local chicken magnate and Kawasaki World Superbike team boss Paul Bird married the lovely Miss Lindsey Birkett

As several people looked on, horse-drawn carriages arrived to deposit the wedding parties at the gates of St Andrew's Church and when the ceremony was over, there was a flypast from some aircraft.
