In what is posibly the worst-kept secret in World Superbikes, BMW bosses have confirmed they have spoken to Troy Corser about signing him to ride alongside Ruben Xaus for the 2009 season - but they are staying tight-lipped over who else is in the frame.
Peter Mueller, BMW's vice-president for lots of things, said: "We are speaking with many other riders not just Troy Corser because at the end we do not know who will sign. But I think it will be an experienced rider because we are new in this game and other teams have great experience, so having a proven Superbike rider would be useful for us. We are talking to some other riders, but in September we want to have everything in place."
We would try to contact Corser, but we've lost his phone number...
