Factory Aprilia rider Max Biaggi's fastest lap time from yesterday's first qualifying session was good enough to take him into World Superbike Superpole at Brno this afternoon.
Only a handful of riders were able to better their times in this morning's second qualifying, so Biaggi's 1'59.982 stands. Sterilgarda Yamaha's Ben Spies was able to go faster, putting himself second fastest on a 2'00.043 with Guandalini Ducati's Jakub Smrz less than a tenth slower in third.
Xerox Ducati's Michel Fabrizio remains in fourth place with Carlos Checa fifth while Britain's Shane Byrne was able to go quicker today, ending the session in sixth place, just fourth tenths off Biaggi's time.
Spies' team-mate Tom Sykes also went quicker and ended the session in eighth with a 2'00.600. Jonathan Rea was 12th quickest with a 2'00.702 while Leon Haslam, who was hovering around the drop zone, pulled himself up to 15th.
