BRNO WSB: CHATTER HINDERS HASLAM AGAIN

Stiggy Honda's Leon Haslam reckons he couldn't go any faster during either of the two World Superbike races at Brno this weekend as tyre slippage and chatter caused him problem in both legs.

The former HM Plant Honda man says that his rear tyre had moved on the rim during both races and that was coupled to bad chatter in the second race which added half a second to his lap times.

“I am pretty disappointed with the whole weekend. We found an average set-up for race one and I was happy to be able to coming through in seventh place. We made a few changes for the second race, but I had a lot more chatter from lap one in the second race. I was doing lap times half a second off what I did in warm-up. The group in front was not that far away but I couldn’t go any faster than I did," said Haslam

"We tried new suspension but suffered really bad front end chatter throughout Friday and Saturday and had no choice but to return to settings we were familiar with for Sunday.

“During practice we also encountered problems with the clutch and we had an oil leak so it was hard work for the technicians but they put in a great effort and I was able to come away with two finishes and more points.

"In the first race I had a lack of grip from the rear tyre right from the start of the race. In race two I again had tyre problems and we discovered after the race that both tyres had been slipping on the rims during the race."
