Ducati 848 Challenge runway series leader gave a wet-weather riding masterclass in the European Superstock 100 race at Brno this morning, coming from 23rd on the grid to take fourth in his first outing in the series.
Brown, who is riding for the Ducati Manchester team, was lapping as fast as race winner Bryan Staring for a majority of the race and quickly picked his way through the field, passing team-mate Kev Coghlan on the way through.
He missed out on a podium spot by only two seconds and could well have got past third-placed man Jeremy Gugarnoni has there been one extra lap on the board. Coghlan, meanwhile, started brightly but slipped back to 11th place when the chequered flag came out.
Pedercini Kawasaki's Staring was a clear winner by 6.5s from Eddie La Marra. The Italian moves to the top of the championship table as Sylvain Barrier was nerfed off by David McFadden mid-race.
