Brno WSBK: Haslam evaluating 2013 after BMW shuffle

Britain's Leon Haslam is evaluating what he may do in the 2013 racing season after the news that his team will be slimmed down and run by the BMW Italia squad next year.

Haslam hinted he may have one eye on MotoGP as the rules are slowly devolved down to the CRT level but he remains hopeful that the BMW squad may be able to give him competitive bike to race in WSBK.

"It's disappointing from my point of view. I really wanted to win a world championship with BMW, especially after this year's progression, I really did feel we were making some headway into that," said Haslam, speaking to Jonathan Green at Brno.

"What will happen with BMW into 2013 remains to be seen. For sure they won't be there in their own capacity. Who knows, maybe the development might continue so maybe we can move forward with that as well.

"BMW Italy do a good job and they get the same equipment as us so as long as the development keeps going forward that's an option everyone will want to consider. I just want a package I can win on and a team that I am happy with. The frustrating thing is I felt we were getting there and now we have to re-group and evaluate what we're doing for 2013.

"With a good team behind me I'm confident most of the factory bikes are capable of winning, they are all very competitive bikes that can win races. I want to be world champion. Who knows where MotoGP are going with the CRT rules and World Superbike going a bit more production-based with 17in wheels next year. For me, I just want to win."
