Factory Yamaha rider Cal Cructhlow was forced to retire from the Brno World Supersport race with three laps to go after forging the best part of a five second lead ahead of eventual winner and team-mate Fabien Foret.
After an inital dice over the first seven laps which saw Crutchlow bumped from first to third behind the Kawasakis of Joan Lascorz and Katsuaki Fujiwara, the former HM Plant Honda BSB man pushed his way back to the front and cleared off.
Meanwhile, Parkalgar Honda's Eugene Laverty got a great start and was running in third but couldn't live with the front runners' pace and crossed the line in fifth place after Stiggy Honda's Anthony West made his way through the field to finish second, ahead of Lascorz.
