MCE British Superbike series leader Josh Brookes will remain focused on taking the 2015 title despite being overlooked for the factory Pata Yamaha World Superbike ride.
Brookes has taken the new R1 from road bike to race winner and is now favourite for this year’s title but the work he and his Milwaukee Yamaha team was deemed not enough by Yamaha Europe, who gave the team deal to Paul Dennning’s Crescent operation and signed Alex Lowes and Sylvain Guintoli.
“I’ve had set backs and been let down many times in my career, this is just another chapter. I've known of this deal for eight weeks weeks so it's old news to me,” said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“It’s not going to affect me, it's just business. I've changed bikes and teams many times before and probably many times more in the future. My focus is still to finish what I started and get the championship won.”
