Britain’s Leon Camier will stand in for the injured Sylvain Barrier at the upcoming Motorland Aragon World Superbike round as the Frenchman recovers from surgery after a car crash.
Camier, who has been left high and dry after his MotoGP ride with Ioda didn’t make it to the Qatar grid, will ride the BMW Italia S1000RR until Barrier is fit enough to re-take the seat.
“I’m really excited to get started. From what I’ve heard the BMW has a lot of potential and this is a really good opportunity for me. I’ve been on the standard bike and it’s the most comfortable road bike I’ve ever sat on so I hope that translates to the race bike and that I have a good feeling right away. I can’t wait to get to work. My best wishes to Sylvain of course. I hope that his recovery goes to plan and that he gets well soon," said Camier.
