Fixi Suzuki's Leon Camier will test a new engine spec at Motorland Aragon early next week ahead of the subsequent World Superbike round at the Spanish track.
A new development has been shipped in from Yoshimura in Japan which Camier will run, along with some different electronic strategies and parts. Camier, according to crew chief Frankie Carchedie, will also spend time doing practice starts.
“The basic schedule at Aragon for Leon is primarily electronic and engine testing. We have a new spec test engine coming from Yoshimura in Japan and we also want to refine the electronics with some new strategies and modified components," said Carchedie.
"The chassis of the GSX-R is working really well, so it is just a case of concentrating on the electronics and engine performance side of things. We’ve done some dyno work at Crescent, since we raced at Phillip Island, to try and get as much out of the motor settings as possible and it will now be important to see how that translates on the track.
"Leon will also be doing a lot of practice starts, using different settings, during the test - it’s something that we need to work on because it was a weak point in Philip Island and we have to get away with the front pack at the start.”
