Carrasco tests Supersport in Jerez but is Moto3 on the cards?

Ana Carrasco is on track at Jerez Circuit in Spain this week for two days aboard a Kawasaki Supersport aided by Provec Racing.

The 2018 WorldSSP300 champion is tipped to be switching paddocks once again, however, with Sky Sport Italia reporting a move to Moto3 and BOE SKX for 2022. The move would see Carrasco replace David Salvador, who was initially indicated on the provisional entry lists back in November.

Rumours surrounding the 24-year-old’s future began circulating on Tuesday after Carrasco’s name failed to appear on either the 300 class or Supersport entry lists. The first woman to win a solo FIM road racing world championship had made no secret of her desire to progress into the intermediate category, however support for the move from her current outfit and inside the WorldSBK paddock seems to be unforthcoming.

Carrasco is no stranger to the MotoGP paddock’s lightweight class with three years experience from 2013-16 already under her belt, and will have rookie David Muñoz as teammate if the move becomes official.
