Factory Yamaha World Superbike rider Tom Sykes has said his crash at the recent Phillip Island tests hasn't hampered his WSB debut at the track this weekend.
The former British Superbike rider crashed at the Southern Loop, which also claimed Noriyuki Haga twice, in the early part of day two but managed to get back out later in the day.
"I wasn’t even busting myself and not sure how it happened, got on it a bit too soon at the exit of turn two, ran wide by two feet and where the tarmac ripples slightly, the rear end low-sided, I caught it then high-sided the other way," said Sykes.
"Luckily I have no serious injuries so will be fighting fit and raring to go at the weekend. I’m more than confident in the bike's capabilities and setup, we’re pretty-much there on the times."
