Customs regulations which would require all of World Superbike machinery to be on Indian soil at the exact time they are racing at Phillip Island has put the country's debut round under threat.
Current rules state that all technical equipment must be in the country 15 days before the race, which would be February 24, and a second fly in the ointment is that teams may have to shell out for a bond which covers everything other than the standard bike which could be expensive and Indian Customs can hang on to the money for six months.
All, however, is not lost as Bernie Ecclestone managed to get his circus in and out of the country but either the circuit promoters or Dorna might just have to stump up the bond cash. A meeting has been organised in Madrid to try and solve the puzzle.
